1. DOE Summer Internships at ARPA-E for Minority Institutions
INTEREST (Inspiring New Transformations in Energy Research by Emerging Scientists and Technologists) is offered by the Advanced Research Projects Agency Energy (ARPA-E) and is managed by the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE).
The program aims to provide students at Minority Serving Institutions with summer internships at the ARPA-E performer sites to collaborate and contribute to high-profile, high-impact next-generation energy technology research and development (R&D).

Biostatistics positions at Harvard University
Two tenure-track faculty positions in Biostatistics have been posted by Harvard University.
Visiting faculty program at FermiLabs
Opportunity for faculty and up to two students to spend a summer at Fermilab.
3. Bridge to Ph. D program at Columbia University
The Bridge to Ph.D. Program is designed to eliminate barriers that students may encounter on their path toward graduate education in STEM fields. Through intensive research, academic training, and personalized mentoring, the program equips post-baccalaureates with the tools they need to strengthen their graduate school applications and transition smoothly into Ph.D. Programs. Competitive stipends available. Applications start Nov 11 and priority deadline is Feb 1.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Transportation Security Laboratory (TSL) Visiting Scientist Program is offering 10-week summer internships for undergraduate and graduate students.
5. University of Maryland Internships in Intelligence and Security (joint with Department of Defense)
Applied Research Laboratory for Intelligence and Security (ARLIS) at the University of Maryland, College Park, is now accepting applications. Deadline Feb 3.
6. (QEM/NSF) Talent Development and Innovation in Sciences (TDIS) Summer Internship
This is a full-time, 10-week paid remote program, allowing students to work closely with NSF Program Directors on funded projects, explore STEM career paths, and gain firsthand experience in science policy. (QEM stands for Quality Education for Minorities)

In this very interesting documentary Vicki Abeles explores how the lack of math skills in the general population, especially under-represented minorities, threatens our democracy. One of the highlights is the Algebra project by civil rights activist Bob Moses.
