Center Postdoctoral Associate
DIMACS, the Center for Discrete Mathematics and
Theoretical Computer Science, invites applications for various postdoctoral
associate positions for 2017-18. Applicants should be recent Ph.D.'s with
interest in DIMACS areas, such as computer science, discrete mathematics,
statistics, physics, operations research, and their applications. One of these
positions is a one-year postdoctoral associateship
investigating modeling of anomaly detection in multi-layer networks. A second
position is a two-year associateship in collaboration
with the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) in Princeton, NJ emphasizing
theoretical computer science and discrete mathematics. Another position
associated with the Simons Collaboration on Algorithms and Geometry also
emphasizes theoretical computer science and discrete mathematics and could be
hosted at Rutgers/DIMACS. A fourth position is a two-year associateship
in theoretical machine learning in the Department of Computer Science at
Rutgers.

University of Utah Mathematical Biology Graduate
Program
beginning August 2017.
The
Mathematical Biology Graduate Program at the University of Utah is one of the
leading research and training programs in Mathematical Biology in the country,
offering a well-rounded, interdisciplinary, program of study, leading to a PhD
in Mathematics. Our graduates are successfully pursuing careers of research and
teaching at universities, colleges, industry and
government laboratories.
We
have received NSF funding for fellowship support of graduate students to study
Mathematical Biology, and we are hoping to recruit bright students who are
interested in a high quality education in this exciting field. We ask you to
encourage your good students who have interest in graduate work in Mathematical
Biology to consider applying to our program. A formal application deadline to
be considered for these fellowships is January 1, 2017, although later
applications willl be considered to the extent that
funds are available.

3. Bridge to PhD at U Penn
The
goal of this program is to increase the number of PhDŐs awarded in mathematics
at Penn to members of groups that are traditionally underrepresented. This
program is different than typical MasterŐs programs as students will be fully
funded and prepared for entry into our PhD program. Therefore, we are seeking
students with the persistence and passion to pursue the training they need to
be ready for a PhD in mathematics.

Nebraska Summer Research Program
Students receive first-hand exposure to research and the
experience of graduate school. They work closely with faculty mentors and
research teams of graduate students and other summer scholars. Students also
have opportunities to participate in meaningful social and professional

Sandia National Labs MasterŐs Fellowship
The MasterŐs Fellowship Program is open to
students who have graduated within the past 2 years or are finishing an
undergrad degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer
science, computer engineering, cybersecurity or
mathematics with a 3.2 or higher GPA, and are planning on enrolling in a
MasterŐs program next fall.
If accepted into this program, students will be hired
into a position in Albuquerque, NM, or Livermore, CA (Bay Area). They will
enter their graduate technical program as a full-time student with paid
tuition and a stipend from Sandia. Students will then continue their career
development with Sandia upon completion of their degree.
