Homeworks, Tests, and grading

In this course we will try to do many examples and problems. Homework problems will be given every week. They will help you prepare for the quizzes.
It is your responsibility to be aware of them, either by attending class or by talking to students in your study group or by checking this web-site. It is highly recommended that you meet with students in your study group atleast once a week.
It is your responsibility to be aware of the quiz dates. The quizzes, while easier to get points for, should not be taken lightly. They are crucial in understanding the material, keeping up-to-date with the class, and also in preparing for the tests. Each quiz is worth 30 points (usually). Some may have more problems than others. The total points out of all the quizzes will count to 200/600 of the final grade. (Anything more than 200 is extra credit. We will probably have 7 or 8 quizzes)

There will be one midterm worth 100 and a final exam worth 200 will count towards final grade. No make-ups unless in a serious emergency.

There will also be a project worth 100 points.

Total: 600 points (Quizzes: 200, Midterm: 100, Project 100, Final: 200 )
A: 540-600
B: 480-539
C: 420-479
D: 360-419
F: Below 360
