Ph.D in Mathematics , California Institute of Technology,           
Pasadena, CA in June 1994.                          

M.Sc. in Mathematics,  Indian Institute of Technology, Madras,                    
India in  June 1989. Coursework included Numerical Analysis,                          
Probability theory, Operations Research, and Graph Theory.          
B.Sc. in Mathematics , University of Madras,India.,  Sep 1987.                              
Minor in Physics and Chemistry.

EXPERIENCE        

Howard University,  Washington D.C, since Aug  1994 :        
Taught Linear Algebra and Differential Equations to advanced              
undergraduates, mostly Engineering majors. The courses          
involved computer projects.  Also taught Abstract Algebra,           
Number Theory, and Calculus.  Proved a special case of a Fermat-type
problem.                                              


Department of Mathematics, Cal Tech, 1989-94 :        

Research in algebraic number theory: Proved a special case of          
Fermat's Last Theorem. Performed numerical computations in C.         
Assisted in teaching, grading and exam development for            
calculus courses.            

Master's Degree Project,  I.I.T, Madras, India.         
Conducted a survey on Waring's Problem in Number Theory.        

Member,  Organizing group for International Student Programs,        
Cal Tech. Organized and led a hike for a group of international         
students. 

SKILLS            

Knowledge of C in a Unix environment, BASIC, FORTRAN,           
Mathematica, Maple. 

HOBBIES          

Hiking, bicycle touring and repair, running.          
Biked from L.A to San Diego on the Pacific Coast Hwy.
